  1. Actually, fear, as in Fear of the Lord, is a great motivator. It boils down too this – is one more afraid of persecution, imprisonment, torture and physical death at the hands of Satan’s minions, OR spending all eternity in Hell suffering unimaginable punishments and separation from God’s Love.

  2. Every thought and action is rooted in either the emotion, the energy, the Darkness of Fear or the Light of Love. Stop beating yourself up if you happen to find that many of your thoughts and actions are rooted in Fear, knowing that a truly loving thought and/or action is naturally so many thousands of times more powerful. Examine if your thoughts and actions are rooted in Fear or Love. Be Fearless! Choose Love!

    1. Yes. “Thoughts and actions rooted in fear” are the pathway to paralysis, numbness, deadness, hardly a state that leads us anywhere near the Kingdom of Heaven.
I am often these days reminded of the Roman Archbasilica St.John Lateran, “ecumenical Mother Church (in the city and the world) of the Roman Catholic Faithful.” Lining the main nave are twelve niches with marble statues of the apostles (St.Paul substituted for Judas), each about 25 feet in height, each solemnly and nobly holding up his personal sign of sanctity and/or the particular object of his martyrdom. Beneath each niche, an open door, hinting at the Apocalypse description of those leading into the heavenly Jerusalem.
The point is that the holy apostles and their heirs until now in the Church Militant were, are, have to be pious and brave. We read, for example, in Paul’s epistle to the Galatians; ” But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed… For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
