  1. Required reading before I began studies at a top US undergraduate engineering school in 1975, Orwell’s 1984. Strange. This school is in close proximity to Washington, DC, the majority of students are from that area. Very strange indeed. Everything is starting to make sense. At the time I struggled to get through the book, kept thinking what does this have to do with anything?
