Editor’s Note: According to all the authors of classical Greece and Rome, Achilles made Snake Island his home, and was afterwards worshipped there by the Greeks as a demi-god. A temple dedicated to him was rediscovered by the Russian Army in 1832. A fierce battle between both powers in the Russo-Ukrainian War has seen this island in the Black Sea, near the coasts of Romania and Ukraine, change hands twice already.
While we remember the small victories of the present, let us not forget of the massive suffering that endures, and what we can to help. I am in the Ukraine for this, but I can do nothing without you standing at my right and left….
