St. Elizabeth of Hungary is inspiring Pope Benedict XVI

by Br. Alexis Bugnolo

On Oct. 20, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI during his Wednesday Audience spoke about the trials suffered by Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, who was the wive of the Landgrave of Thuringia, and should have inherited his rule, was cast aside by a cousin, who usurped the throne of the Landgravate.

Here is what he said on that occasion, from the official English translation of his original discourse in Italian, from the Vatican website:

However, another trial was lying in wait for Elizabeth. Her brother-in-law usurped the government of Thuringia, declaring himself to be the true heir of Ludwig and accusing Elizabeth of being a pious woman incapable of ruling. The young widow, with three children, was banished from the Castle of Wartburg and went in search of a place of refuge. Only two of her ladies remained close to her. They accompanied her and entrusted the three children to the care of Ludwig’s friends. Wandering through the villages, Elizabeth worked wherever she was welcomed, looked after the sick, spun thread and cooked.

During this calvary which she bore with great faith, with patience and with dedication to God, a few relatives who had stayed faithful to her and viewed her brother-in-law’s rule as illegal, restored her reputation.

The parallels with what happened to him in 2013 and has suffered since then are unmistakable.

I wish to thank the author of @MiScrivoaReligione on Youtube for this most excellent find!

UPDATE

Thanks to a persisted Priest in Portugal, I want to call everyone’s attention to the date on which this discourse was given. 10.20, 2010 A. D., which when written backward is 10.20 1020 A. D. — October 10, 1020 A. D..

That was when Pope Benedict VIII reigned.

And that is significant, because that is the very pope whom Pope Benedict XVI will allude to, with his cryptic message to his biographer, Peter Seewald, in 2016, when he says, no pope has resigned in a 1000 years (1017-2016), and even in the first millenium (of the Church 33 AD to 1032 A. D.) it was an exception!

And so, it is entirely possible that this discourse on St. Elizabeth WAS A SIGN TO THE WORLD OF WHAT HE WAS ABOUT TO DO, to defend against THE FREEMASONS IN THE CHURCH, and that he had contemplated this from as early as October 2010 A. D.!

With Globalist Censorship growing daily, No one will ever know about the above article, if you do not share it.

  1. Attention Fra Alexis: October, like I wrote before. Not November. It’s 20.10.2010

    1. OK. Thanks. Now I see what you are trying to say….. ugh,

But now I see something else. The date 20.10.2010, which is the way Europeans write Oct. 20, 2010, when read backward is 10.20.1020, or Oct. 20, 1020 A. D.

That is significant, because that is when Pope Benedict VIII was pope, the very pope whom he alludes to, with his cryptic message to his biographer, Peter Seewald, in 2016, when he says, no pope has resigned in a 1000 years, and even in the first millenium (of the Church 33 AD to 1032 A. 1. Extremely interesting and, yes, much potential significance!

I think there is much to be said for “number symbolism”, as long as it is understood in a Catholic context.

We have already seen, nine months ago, the disastrous consequences of 2.22am on the 22.02.2022…….!!

  2. And then

Look: As Julian herself recounts, in May 1373, most likely on the 13th of that month.

I think pope Benedict had a revelation at Fatima when he nailed to the image of our Lady. That’s what can be noticed on the video and the great silence. Someone had to go there and “wake” the Pope so in deep prayer he was.

    NOTE: 00:01:59
“DOIS MINUTOS DEPOIS” = “AFTER TWO MINUTES”
All the shrine (more than 200.000 pilgrims at that moment) were in total silence during two minutes. And look how he is breathing.

    Giuliana de Norwich
    Revelations, again.
cloistered monasteries, again (contemllative like Marguerite d’Oingt).
Well, I read all the audiences after 20.10.2010, one by one (even in Spain), and it’s like preparing the great decision.

  3. Saint Catherine of Bologna

    https://www.vatican.va/content/benedict-xvi/en/audiences/2010/documents/hf_ben-xvi_aud_20101229.html

    At the end:
«she did not want to govern. She wanted to serve, to do God’s will, to be at the service of others. And for this very reason Catherine was credible in her authority, because she was able to see that for her authority meant, precisely, serving others.

Let us ask God, through the intercession of Our Saint, for the gift to achieve courageously and generously the project he has for us, so that he alone may be the firm rock on which our lives are built.»

      1. We find he was being taken by the Will of Our Lord Jesus upon the Church (like Jesus at the ghetsemane: Father, your Will!).
He was being formed by Our Lady in the womb of humility.
And having, he, himself, at the same time, a progressive consciense of this, “like in a Mirror”.
This was sprecialy when he found to be him the Pope announced in the third part of Fatimas’ message (confront the progress: Ratzinger 12 October 1986 ; Ratzinger 2000 at the theological commenti; and finally Pope Benedict XVI in May 2010).

  4. Sorry about the date of the interview (I was walking and writing). It was 12 october 1996 (not 1986):

“We would be mistaken to think that Fatima’s prophetic mission is complete”.

In portoghese: “Iludir-se-ia” = “One would remain in illusion” (no like in italian “ilusione”, meaning progetto, desiderio, but like in english: an idea or belief that is wrong an not true).

    1. Sorry again: only in spanish (and not in italian) there is a positive acception of the term “ilusión” (like enthusiasm).

      Anyway it is clear:

«We would be mistaken to think that Fatima’s prophetic mission is complete. Here there takes on new life the plan of God which asks humanity from the beginning: “Where is your brother Abel […] Your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!” (Gen 4:9). Mankind has succeeded in unleashing a cycle of death and terror, but failed in bringing it to an end… In sacred Scripture we often find that God seeks righteous men and women in order to save the city of man and he does the same here, in Fatima, when Our Lady asks: “Do you want to offer yourselves to God, to endure all the sufferings which he will send you, in an act of reparation for the sins by which he is offended and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?” (Memoirs of Sister Lúcia, I, 162).»

in Benedict XVI, Homily, Fatima, 13.V.2010.

      It is happening.

  5. Here I am!

    Thank God for this ‘discovery’!

Really the Pope was preparing his Way that now come more and more clear!

I have something to note about the reference at Benedict VIII, that before the next video I wanted to clear and to verify together:

In this text of Ferdinand Gregorovius “Storia della Città di Roma nel Medioevo” 1859-1872 we can read at page 217 the footnote 20, that explain well the misunderstanding with Antipope Gregory VI and Pope Benedict VIII.

    https://archive.org/details/storiadellacitt01manzgoog/page/216/mode/2up?view=theater

Antipope Gregory goes to Pöhlde for asking the legitimacy by the future emperor Henry II.

And the true Pope Benedict VIII -But Without the (future) Emperor’s confirmation- wrote to him to present his impeachment at to ask the recognition of his election.

So you understand the last sentence of the Chronology of the German version of ‘Letzte Gespräche‘

„11 Februar 2013: Als erster Papst seit 1000 (in Number!) Jahren und erster wirklich regierenden Pontifex überhaupt (Benedict VIII, in fact was not yet recognized by the future emperor), erklärt Benedict XVI, im achten Jahr seine Regierung den Rücktritt (not ‚Abdankung’!), see zum 28. Februar 2013 wirksam wird.“

This last sentence is historically ‘undoubtedly!’

    1. The imperial recognition of a papal election did not cause the man to become pope, but was only a public confirmation of the legitimacy of his election, since there were so many uncanonical elections in those years.

      1. Thank you Fr. Alexis!

Yes! This is true, but in this case Henry II leave with this act the impeachment to Benedict VIII (antelitteram: he was with the Munus but not yet the ministerium.) and ask antipope Gregory VI to ‘stop acting as Pope’. That he effectively do.

For this reason the sentence says about BXVI “ Als erster wirklich regierenden Pontifex“ because Benedict VIII was not yet “reigning “ pontiff

And the request of the emperor confirmation, was ‘the communication of his resignation’ (Rücktritt erklären) like BXVI did with his declaration.

Henry the second was another case of…

        “Riabilitazione del Nome!”

Nothing of ’canonic’ relevant to ‘become Pope’ but factually necessary to ‘acting as Pope’!

  6. Thank you for all this references!

Of course all what he wrote in his catechesis was the definition of what he wanted for himself and for the church!

Now is the moment to live this…
