Br. Bugnolo expressed his views on the series about Emmanuela at OMC Radio TV, where he reasoned thus: if her body has never been found it means that it itself is evidence which no one ever wanted found; now what could that be, since its discovery would put an end to much speculation, unless of course it means she was pregnant at the time of her disappearance? Br. Bugnolo also speculated that the father must have been someone with the authority to obstruct the investigation, and of such a level of importance that until Pope Francis the Vatican would stall the investigation. And he supposed that it might be none other than Archbishop Marcinkus or Pope John Paul II, himself.
