Il Messaggero and other papers within a day were excoriating any discussion of this in numerous articles and interviews. This continued to be the push on Thursday, throughout. But as dawn broke here in Rome, something has changed. Now 13 of the 15 results on the first page of Google, for Italian news for “Papa Francesco” speak of the possible resignation.

Maybe it’s only because they have nothing else to report on. Or maybe some announcement is imminent.
