Unfortunately I know all too well how dangerous this is as my mother just passed away in a very similar way. She was 86, went to hospital for a uti, developed sepsis, needed a port for antibiotics, went into rehab, developed pneumonia, went back into hospital and died within a week. This whole thing was within a month. Very very devastating and profoundly sad. May she rest in peace and may the Lord have mercy and heal Pope Francis.
