Thus, it is quite possible that during one of his three near “death by choking” incidents he had a tracheotomy to open the breathing route. It is also possible that during one of his near glycemic coma incidents in February he suffered some sort of brain damage. It also could be that, instead, he is suffering from some sort of lateral ischemia or paralysis, which causes a lack of blood flow or movement on one side of his face and its musculature.
And it probably also has to do with the fact that his lungs are in a very poor condition.
But this admission by Cardinal Fernandez puts in further doubt the claim by Vatican News that Pope Francis is concelebrating the Mass, since that is impossible unless you can speak. In fact, when priest loses the ability to enunciate, the normal course is for his bishop to be deprive him of his faculty to say the Mass, on account of the sacrality of the spoke ritual, wherein to “say” Mass without proper enunciation would be both a sacrilege and put in doubt its validity.
But, if, by saying saying he needs to relearn how to speak, the Cardinal means to imply that Pope Francis will be on high levels of oxygen for the rest of his life, then there is much more to it that first appears.
This news truly explains the depth of the misinformation given by Vatican News during the last month, as nothing of this kind was ever even hinted at.
In Italian versions of this interview, which are in the original language of his comments, Cardinal Fernandez also says that Pope Francis will need rehabilitation therapy after he leaves hospital and that his doctors want to be 100% sure before they release him, that he can be on his own outside of a hospital setting. In fact, the Cardinal says, “He might be released from the hospital” at some future time. This is a really significant admission, that the Cardinal did not use the future tense but the conditional, “might”.
The Cardinal affirms, uncategorically, however, that Pope Francis will NOT resign, even though he DOES affirm that Pope Francis will never be able to return to his busy schedule.
However, if the Cardinal is honest in relating that Pope Francis does not want to resign, it must be, that Cardinal Fernandez asked him if he wanted to resign. And that is Big News! Because if one of his closest confidants is asking the question, that implies that nearly all the College of Cardinals is counseling him to resign.
And for the Church this is very good news, because with the Pope in such a debilitated state, Bishops, backed by the majority of the College of Cardinals, will not have to implement his uncatholic and destructive decrees, which will soon be buried with him forever.

D. who strives to give every possible explanation for the Pope needing speech therapy, but excluding brain damage. He does not mention a tracheotomy, drug abuse, but suggests that the force of coughing could damage the larynx! Without a medical diagnosis with what he has, it us all speculation.
I add another possible condition: aphasia. Can be caused by many conditions, specially is elderly people.
Let us continue to pray that Pope Francis is able to repent, confess his multitude of sins, and receive absolution before his body dies and his immortal soul goes to its eternal destination……
In the meantime it does appear that the wrath of Almighty GOD is heaping suffering upon suffering to Bergoglio – this may well be due to the four “Sins Crying to Heaven for Vengeance” of which, even if Bergoglio did not commit any himself, he could be an ‘accessory’ to another’s mortal sin in any one of nine different ways……
