1. With all do respect, Gen Hodges is a Democrat. He supported Kamala Harris and was promoted to the General Staff during administrations that supported the decline of Europe in relation to Russia. He makes good observations of past Nato involvement but his observations about the current negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to end the current conflict are assumptions and shows that he is not privy to the behind the scenes of current negotiations. He even admits that in the interview. Some of the questions by the interviewer are prefaced in a way to suggest an answer that favors and anti administration answer.

   The last fact i get is the origin of the interviewer is a Ukrainian based media outlet. So the whole interview is one sided.

   It is all based on old methods of negotiations to end a conflict.

   Reality tells us that Russia started the conflict by invading Crimea first. Then when the west did not do anything to revert that, they eventually invaded Ukraine to start the current fighting. As the west again did not do anything to stop it, just giving token monetary support and lip service to Ukraine, it emboldened Russia to continue. The conflict is now basically at a stalemate, a trench war and a battlefield to test robotic weapons. But at a loss of great numbers of manpower, mostly the youth of both countries. Gen Hodges does not present any solutions to the conflict. He only restates the same propaganda points that would make the war continue indefinitely.

   He can only speculate on an outcome to end the wat based on facts that are not realistic to end the war. The current US administration is trying a new realistic approach to stop the killing first, then work on a lasting realistic peace plan. Gen Hodges does not have a plan by his own admission.
