Editor’s Note: 17 Tesla cars were destroyed by fire, when the dealership at Rome went up in flames shortly after 4 A. M., March 31, 2025. This was the second such incident at Rome, the first being on March 22, in the norther district of the city, when a Dealership of electric cars caught fire. It is not clear if these fires are the result of acts of vandalism, or the cars developing electrical issues with their batteries. — In France, Tesla cars have also burned in recent weeks. — Click the first image to see video by LocalTeam of the remains of the Dealership. Click the second image to see the port by RomeToday in Italian (which ironically does not allow Google translation).

I think those cars are pretty much deathtraps.
They apperantely can’t be opened from the inside without a working electrical system. If the electronics don’t work, due to an accident or an electrical short circuit, you can not just open the car from the inside and get out.
I watched a video of a guy who crashed and the car started to burn. The only way for him to get out was to use his legs and smash the windows. That wasn’t easy either according to the guy since the windows in those cars are pretty thick.
