U.S. Vice-President to visit Rome for Easter & that is problematic

Editor’s Note: Three months ago, J. D. Vance, a convert to the Catholic Faith, was a cause for pride (in the good sense of the word) and confidence among many Catholics in the United States, especially among those who insisted that politicians who claim to be Catholic ought to act like it.

But with Vance’s strong support of In Vitro Fertilization and his near Hitlerian demands that Greenland join the United States, that initial joy has been nearly totally eroded. The same conservative Catholics are now saying that Vance should stop receiving communion because he has adopted public positions which are contrary to the Catholic Faith and are a grave scandal to the whole world.

Indeed, Catholics like myself now have grave doubts that Vance’s conversion was sincere, because when you convert to the Catholic Faith, you have to submit to Christ, the Prince of Peace, and put aside any spirit of aggression and desire to steal from your heart, not to mention all reckless intention to kill the innocent in the womb or in the petri dish.

His visit to Rome, from April 18-20, 2025, therefore, is going to be a lot less popular with all Catholics. As for the clergy at the Vatican who are nearly all socialists or marxists, I would not be surprised that they refuse him communion, IF he comes to mass.

  1. Sadly, the post V2 cathechisis is not of the same depth and orthodoxy as it was a hundred years ago.
I still believe that the Baltimore Cathechism 2 and children memorizing the questions and answers is the most effective way to teach the Faith.
I know this bc I’m now in my 80s and I can answer those memorized questions and answers in a split second….like 2 + 2= 4.
