Father Charles Coughlin was the first “Canceled Priest”, silenced at the request of the U. S. Government, by his Archbishop Mooney in 1942 (made a Cardinal by Pius XII four years later), he remained the pastor of the National Basilica of the Little Flower, Royal Oaks, Michigan, which still stands as a monument to his faith and devotion. Coughlin, just as they have against the good name of the Catholic Senator, Joseph McCarthy. — These are two Catholic heroes who are thus nearly entirely unknown by Catholics today.
