VATICAN: Public Prosecutor hears Cionci denounce the failed resignation of Pope Benedict XVI

Explanation, History and Commentary by Br. Alexis Bugnolo, Editor of FromRome.Info

Last summer in June, Andrea Cionci filed a criminal complaint with the Vatican Prosecutor against the usurpation of the office of the papacy by Jorge Mario Bergoglio in March of 2013. — In February, 2025, he filed a second brief, and received an invitation some days ago, to appear on Saturday, April 12, 2025, to give a verbal explanation of his complaint. The Promoter of Justice, Alessandro Diddi and a colleague  took a verbal statement, which Cionci approved, after a 4 hour discussion, as he says in the above Video from his YouTube channel, Codice Ratzinger.

The approach to the problem of the failed resignation as a crime against the civil code of the Vatican rather than a canonical crime was a novel approach, one of the many that Andrea Cionci has taken in recent years. I admit, I thought it ludicrous, because the nature of the problem is canonical. Moreover, the public prosecutor at the Vatican cannot take action against the Pope.

So I think that if these two officials heard Andrea Cionci, it is because they understand, that the best way to demonstrate the integrity of their office, now that Pope Francis is nearer to death, is to at least take a verbal statement from the one who filed the criminal complaint. This shows their impartiality, which cannot fail to impress the next Pope.

In all honest legal systems, whether a prosecutor wants to hear a case or not, he is obliged to receive at least the complaint. Cionci says both men he met with acted professionally.

In the end, however, I think the matter will go nowhere. Cionci’s fans will hail it as a victory. But the reality is, that it is only a normal response to any complaint according to administrative procedure. Indeed, if you felt defrauded by the ticket you purchased to see the Vatican Museums, and had a complaint to file which was criminal, the same two prosecutors would probably give you the same occasion to hear your complaint, if they thought it was at least possibly actionable.

If I were to speculate other motives, it may be more urgent and apparent now to even Vatican officials, to know if Bergoglio was in fact installed by the U.S. Government, seeing that the recent actions of the Trump Administration against Europe and Italy are putting Europeans on edge and getting them at last to be concerned about American interference in their governments, especially when one of their possible installations, Pope Francis, is destroying the pensions of everyone at the Vatican — a topic which riles Italians more than any other, no matter what their theological or political allegiances are. But that is merely a wild gut-feeling of mine.

However, I want to, nevertheless, publicly praise Andrea Cionci for at least trying to do what he thinks he can do, juridically, to solve the crisis in the Church. That is light-years ahead of persons who merely talk about the problem, lament, and ask you to like and fav their videos or articles.

I am not sure what precisely Cionci denounced, and I hope that in the near future he explains it. I will keep the readers of FromRome.Info informed.

Now, all those who join the Sutri Initiative can cite this action by Andrea Cionci. And he himself, having made a criminal complaint, should now join the Sutri Initiative, to attack the problem from the only other angle remaining: the canonical.

Thanks to the Readers of FromRome.Info

As for the readers of FromRome.Info, this development at the Vatican would never have happened if it were not for your support over the years. Because that Andrea Cionci began investigating the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI was entirely because you supported and encouraged my research and work here at Rome, which made it possible for me to come to know, in the Spring of 2020, of the YouTuber, Decimo Toro, who was an acquaintance of Cionci and who urged him to speak with me and read FromRome.Info’s dossier of articles on the matter.

From these things, Cionci became totally convinced by February 2021, that the topic merited constant attention and took the lead from my suggestion that there were hidden meanings in the Declaratio to begin his own investigations. His famous book, The Ratzinger Code, (May 26, 2022), which mentions these articles at FromRome.Info in several places, became a best seller and won over the intelligentsia of Italy and France (through the French translation of the book by Father Walter Covens, who voluntarily translated hundreds of articles here into the language of that nation).

In consequence, Andrea Cionci gathered the support of numerous experts in jurisprudence who assisted him in presenting his criminal complaint (June 2024) to the Vatican Promoter of Justice, Alessandro Diddi, a Roman Criminal Law expert, appointed to that office last year by Pope Francis.

This meeting in the Vatican, then, highly likely, also indicates that the truth is now widely understood by the College of Cardinals and the employees of the Vatican and the Roman Curia. And that means the Church is on the cusp of confronting the problem publicly.

Thank you! one and all, for sharing these articles and for your constant and faithful support. Together we have accomplished something great that will not only go down in the history of the Church as an example of how the Mystical Body should defend itself, but which will merit us tremendous graces from the Sacred Heart, who more than any of us, is aggrieved by the events in His Church these last 12 years.
