Editor’s Note: Andrea Cionci who was an avid reader of FromRome.Info and ran with many of the leads, first published here, had hundreds of his own articles on his blog as a journalist at il Libero, one of the Conservative newspaper here in Italy. But after being heard by the Vatican prosecutor’s office last week, he got a very rude awakening, as we say in English.
For, this Holy Week the Libero responded to his meeting at the Vatican, with the total erasure of all his work for 3 years, more than 1000 years. (You can still find some of his articles in English and Italian, here at FromRome. Click here.)
This is just another reason why supporting independent Catholic publications like FromRome.Info, which because of its support by readers, on its own server, cannot be cancelled at the request of the Vatican, is so important and essential to the historical record.
The reality was that Cionci got slapped down. He thought the prosecutor was friendly but the statements and evidence he gave could have used by the prosecutor, in a legal complaint, to the authorities in Italy to censor his blog.
And I say, that it appears that the Vatican Prosecutor is the one who asked il Libero to cancel the blog of Cionci, simply because it impugned the legitimacy of Pope Francis, on the grounds that in Italian law, one cannot attack the Pope. — This is my conjecture of the juridical basis of the censorship request. This is not only my opinion, but the opinion also of the speaker in the video above.
And that means, that the Vatican Prosecutor likely was asked to invite Cionci to speak in front of witnesses to lure him into legally implicating him in defamation or calumny of Pope Francis!
This is pure evil! This is treachery by a public official. But it does not surprise me, as the Vatican has been acting this way since 2019, when the undersecretary of State told the Italian State Police to take down the posters of Veri Catholici, and threatened me with arrest, anywhere in the City of Rome, if I should show them again in public. — Before we hung our posters, we held them: this is the first video I recorded in Italy, in 2019:
In the video above, there is a display of other articles, not by Cionci, which il Libero left on line, which demonstrates that the erasure targeted solely the writings of Cionci.
For the assurance of my readers, know that FromRome.Info is published on a server outside of the legal jurisdiction of both the Vatican City State and the Republic of Italy, precisely so it can enjoy true freedom of expression without threats of censorship.
If you would like to support FromRome.Info, our server expenses are coming due in June, and you can contribute through my April Appeal, in the section, “Support FromRome.Info“. Thank you! Without you, all the 40,000+ articles here would suffer the same fate as Cionci’s Blog, since as a Franciscan brother, without any financial sources, I cannot not keep it online by myself..

Reply from Br. Bugnolo — In the USA, machines read the addresses on letters, so if they cannot read it correctly it is sent back. Also, if the postage stamps are not of the correct value according to these machines they send it back.
Such actions only prove that Cionci was quite close to the truth.
