Though this conflict has its own causes, not to mention that inciting a war between these two countries is an intricate part of the foreign policy of China and Israel — it will provide that extra incentive for the Cardinal Electors not to chose a man (Cardinal Pizzaballa) who thinks that the Church should not get involved in making peace between nations.
And that is very good.
It will also bolster the case for Cardinal Ranjith, who has taken a strong stand against terrorism, while advocating constantly for peace among diverse religions, since he comes from Sri Lanka, which is a non-aligned country, but member of many pro-peace alliances in that region.
