Editor’s Note: Everyone seemingly knows that the election of Leo XIV is canonically and juridically invalild, for violating canon 335, when the Cardinals abolished the equipollent precept of Universi Dominici Gregis, in n. 33, of that Papal Law, which forbids more than 120 Cardinal electors to to participate, thus resulting in an entire bogus count as per n. 68, not to mention that they elected a formal manifest heretic, the election of whom is declared null and void and “impossible to be repaired” by Pope Paul IV, in n. 6, of “Cum Ex Apostolatus Officio”.
I say everyone, because within 9 days after the election, National Catholic Register’s editor felt the necessity of running an article attempting to explain that Prevost has the highest respect for the laws of the Church and sees the right functioning of the Church as necessarily founded on observance of Church Law.
NCR, thou dost protest too much!
If we are to take at face value the summary of Prevost’s doctoral thesis, then we should have expected that he refuse any nomination to be pope and have voted against abolishing the equipolent precept as that would have violated canon 335. But he didn’t.
