Editor’s Note: On cue, as I predicted yesterday, the attempt to discredit any opposition to Cardinal Prevost’s invalid claim to be the pope has begun what I call the “Left field” grift: don’t confront the facts directly, but find someone who gets them wrong and attack him, to instill deeply in the imagination and memory of all Catholics such confusion and error, so that when the hear the truth, the categorize it as another variant of the crazy loony things they have already been fed.
The above youtuber, who is a notorious pope-splainer: excusing all the errors and sins of Pope Francis and denied that Pope Benedict XVI invalidly resigned, goes after Dr. Mazza, following the attack of the self-proclaimed ex-CIA Agent, Steve O’Reilley.
These guys are predicable, just like members of the same theatrical group, reading from the same script every time you go to the theatre.
Dr. Mazza rejects the right of the Church at Rome to elect it’s own Bishop, so he holds that Pope Benedict XVI never had a legitimate successor. His position, being at variance with Catholic Doctrine and ecclesiastical jurisprudence is thus the easy punching bag for Mr. Lofton. Dr. Mazza chose to listen to the crazy theories of Ann Barnhardt about how Pope Benedict XVI could not have a successor and after that he was out of the starting gate, getting interviews everywhere, even though he has never even read the Code of Canon Law in Latin.
The original comments of Dr. Mazza are found in his interview with Timonthy Flanders, of “Meaning of Catholic”, 8 days ago, here:
Dr. Mazza opens his argument by saying that Prevost is “suspect of heresy”, a category in ecclesiastical jurisprudence which has nothing to do with the facts or the Papal Bull of Paul IV, and thus starts the left-field play on a totally invalid juridical position, which is easily refuted by any half-baked analysis. Then they all quote documents in English, rather than Latin, probably because none of them can read Latin. The results are predicable: you have to be a loon to think the election was invalid. And nearly everything else Dr. Mazza says is simply wrong and totally confused, as even the many comments on this video notice.
At the end of his video, Lofton takes a really strange opinion and does not attempt to refute Dr. Mazza’s many many errors, but says the Magisterium has to. So in a way, he seems also very upset in the choice of Prevost, and gives credence to the confusion of Dr. Mazza. So really why he made his own video, is not clear. You should make a video to tell the truth, no? not to pick through the trash and say, “Look what I found!”
But I will leave the matter at that point, and urge you to pray that all these three men, Mazza, Flanders and Lofton, actually open a book which explains the terms they use and educate their listeners rather than engage in grifting on confusion. That’s not the Catholic way.
