May 1, 2021: Dangerous Friar Stopped by Police for Praying in Public

Editor’s Note: I recently came across a video which shows what the police did to me on the night of May 1, 2021 A. D., when they interrupted me and 8 other Catholics for praying the Our Father, while standing more than 2 meters from one another, after midnight in the Piazza of Santa Maria Maggiore, at Rome. Back then I was told not to publish any images of the police as that could bring further charges against me. But this channel so edited the video as to hide faces. — It was a nightmarish battle of wills for 5 1/2 hours, as I practiced passive-resistance, that is non cooperation. In the end, they took me to the police station and wrote up the charges against me, which I refused to sign and accept, saying, in Italian, “I never touch used toilet paper”. — It was one of my greatest day’s work in life. —  This video is in Italian. Even journalists commented on the madness of what the police did, such as here, at Il Giornale. (use Chrome or Firefox to translate to your own language). — Most of the video is however an interview done the next evening, in a restaurant near the Pantheon: and you can see I have slept little in the last 48 hours.

  1. I Just noticed that St Francis of Assisi
Had a confessor and secretary and assistant
    Whose name was BRO LEO….
May be that is why Provost chose the name Pope Leo…

    1. He obviously had several reasons, and that may have been one of them. But Brother Leo was a very hold and simple man, and Prevost is a vrey wicked and clever man.

  2. May Almighty GOD bless & protect you at all times, Brother Alexis, for professing your love & devotion to the Roman Caholic Faith in public and accepting any persecution, revulsion, and scandal directed at you because you hold fast to the Truth at all times.

The last of Christ’s Beatitudes is your consolation – St Matthew 5: 10-12.

    Pax tecum.

    1. I filed a criminal complaint against them, since there were more of 5 of them, all armed, in Italian law the minimum sentence would be 5 years in prison! even if they only violated one of my rights. Now at Rome, I merely give my name and the police run away. Hehe.

      1. Excellent it reminds me of the David versus Goliath combat!
Now, if only we could get the Catholic hierarchy to be so obedient to, and fearful of, Canon Law……

      2. It’s the fear of lawsuits and the cost of them. Most of these guys only get like 1500 euro a month, so they are living on the edge.
