The Documented Heresy of Prevost, on the inadmissibility of Capital Punishment

by Br. Alexis Bugnolo

The loss of the Faith throughout the world is something even more concerning that the violation of rules in a Conclave. Yet, since the fall of 2013, when Pope Francis first spoke against the morality of the use by the State of capital punishment, nearly no one has called this a heresy, unlike myself.

In addition, I warned the Catholic World that this was a most grave heresy. Here is my essay on this from 2018, “An Open Letter to all the Faithful from a Catholic from the Diocese of Rome“, just 5 days after the New York Times reported that Pope Francis had totally denied the morality of the State’s use of capital punishment.

This attack on the lawfulness and moral liceity of the State’s use of capital punishment is one of the key heresies of the Mafia of St. Gallen, because they know that they deserve to be put to death for their role in an international system of child abuse and rape. So like any criminal organization they oppose it.

This too is one of the key heretical positions of international Marxism, in those countries which are not yet controlled completely. But when the Revolution comes, the Marxist squads will have no qualms about killing everyone if necessary, in the name of the Revolution, but not in the name of justice or god-forbid, God.

And Cardinal Prevost is of the same mindset. So in this article I will document his heretical statements for posterity’s sake, because nearly all the controlled “Catholic” outlets have said nothing about this, since being good socialist and globalist lackeys, they are 100% on board with rewarding criminals with 5 star hotels for life.

For ease of reference, I will list the news reports in the order of their publication. Each image will be linked the original article, and after each image I will summarize the heretical statements of the Cardinal against Capital Punishment.

““It’s time to end the death penalty,” he wrote March 5, 2015, in an X post.”

May 20, 2025 — The WM Review, quote 2023 statement

This article has the original video from Prevost’s addresss to the University in Peru where he emphatically declares his heretical position:

“For instance, a Catholic cannot truly claim to be “pro-life” by maintaining a stance against abortion while simultaneously advocating in favor of the death penalty. Such a position would lack coherence with Catholic social teaching. Our thinking and teaching must manifest coherence, consistently defending the value of human life from its beginning to its natural end.”

This statement is formally heretical because it not only contained a denial, but a contradiction of Church doctrine, on the moral liceity of the State’s use of capital punishment. Now since the Apostle Saint Paul taught this, when he wrote his letter to the Church of Rome, in Romans 13:4, Prevost is explicitly breaking not only with the Church but with the Apostle. — That is the very definition of heresy. It is also equivalent to apostasy, since there is no such thing as a Christianity which calls Saint Paul a liar or implies he is not one of the foundations of Catholic Teaching on Social Issues.

June 24, 2025 — IPN News, citing letter of March 9, 2011

That online comment form submission, addressed to the then Governor of the State of Illinois, USA, contained these words:

“Dear Governor Quinn, THANK YOU for your courageous decision in signing into law the elimination of the death penalty,” the note reads. “I know it was a difficult decision, but I applaud your vision and your understanding of the very complex matter. You have my full support! Sincerely, Robert F. Prevost.”

This testimony is significant, because it shows that even before Pope Francis uttered the same heresy openly in 2018, Prevost was promoting this error. So it is not a question of him presuming Pope Francis’ teaching was magisterial. It’s his own personal conviction of heresy.

Canonical Consequences

Since the Apostle Saint Paul taught that it is licit and pleasing to the Divine Majesty, that the State have and use capital punishment, and since the Church has always taught this, it follows the he who denies this teaching had denied a truth that is de fide divina et catholica. And as such is excommunicated latae sententiae ipso facto by canon 1364, and deprived of all legal right to celebrate the sacraments and exercise any office or munus or dignity in the Church by canon 1331 §1, such as happens when a Pope nominates individuals as Bishops or promulgate laws. Thus, even if you refused to admit that Prevost’ election as Leo XIV was invalid, as per n. 6 of Pope Paul IV’s, “Cum ex apostolatus officio”, you would have to recognize that he was totally incapable of exercising the authority of the Pope (cf. my article, “Code of Canon Law would make Prevost in impossible Pope“). — Thus any Catholic author who claims that the nominations, appointments, teachings of Prevost have any legal validity to them is denying multiple Canons of the Code of Canon Law and denying the Catholic Faith, and must be suspect of also being a heretic.

Indeed, so grave is the moral fault of heresy, that a Catholic who does not denounce a heretic within thirty days, was in previous centuries regarded as suspect of heresy himself.

Alas, Trad inc. has mentally conditioned most Catholics to never condemn anyone as a heretic, by pretending that the only meaning of the word regards the crime not the sin, or that the canons against heresy only regard the crime and not the sin, which is simply not true. Canon 1364 imposes excommunication on every Catholic, who is baptized and has the use of reason, who in in the presence of others who can testify to it, such as in a news report, is shown to adhere to a heresy or schism from the true Church, ipso fact, immediately, without any need of any authority in the Church to declare it. — It is only when someone  is brought before a tribunal or council, denounced for heresy, is he accorded the penal procedure’s protections for the accused, before he can be deposed from office or excommunicated by the tribunal or council. That refers to the crime.

And they have flipped the categories, so that  if anyone “denounces” the heretic, it is an unjust “accusation” because only Modernists in power have the authority to do this. And then deny to all but the Bishops the duty and right to do such. And they say schism only exists when you break from heretics and schismatics.

So when you see any grifter lamenting bad appointments by Prevost, ask him, “Why are you rejecting the plain meaning of canons 1364 and 1331, because it appears that by doing this, you hold that a heretic can exercise authority in the Church.”

  1. Pope Pius XII also had an adversion towards the death penalty and as a result many priests assisted Nazi’s in escaping Europe to Latin America using the rat lines. The book Vatican Spies says that even Cardinal Siri was involved.

So it is a grave injustice that pedophiles and mass murderers escape justice because governments have a heretical view on the application of capital punishment.

    1. I would not excuse P12 on that grounds. He was very active participant in war profiteering with the Nazis, because he believed the marxist threat was the only threat.
