Editor’s Note: I am old enough to remember that in the early 90’s when the “World-wide Web” was getting started, that you could do a search for “Catholic Church” and get like 60,000 links. That’s when the public had access to real search engines.
But times have changed radically, as can be seen from the screen shot of the Microsoft Bing search engine results taken this morning, at Rome, Italy, at 9 A. M., on August 26, 2025.
I searched for “Catholic Church” and chose the tab for “News”, under “More”, and got … wait for it …. 4 results.
Yep! Imagine that. There are only 4 links on the entire world wide web which have to do with the Catholic Church.
Imagine that.
What world is the Microsoft Bing Search Engine staff living in? A mental institution for persons with IQs of 20?
The reality is that the Microsoft Corporation has taken a radically anti-Catholic position on information and is intentionally censoring 99.99999999% of all Catholic websites in the world. — What they are in fact saying is, “Bing will no longer assist Catholics to learn about the news in the Catholic Church”. And that is a form of the most radical anti-Catholic bigotry!
Whether you are a Catholic or not, this should irk you to the extreme.
If you are a publisher of electronic media, this should cause you to take immediate action, and raise a storm against MS, if you are not a Globalist controlled front for misinforming Catholics.
FromRome.Info should NOT be the only Catholic website reporting this. So I challenge others to speak out, because we are all being censored if we allow this to go on. Prove you are Catholic by at least reporting on this outrageous censorship.

I tried this identical search using Bing from within the continental US and it yielded seven results — not much better — with no option in the UI to ‘See more” — because there ARE no more results. They literally are proffering under 10 results for an extremely popular search term (the polar opposite of esoteric) used in its most generic form. Everyone knows that the more generic and non-specific your search terms, the more results it will yield. Searching on “Catholic Church” should have resulted in a page that stated, “1-200 of millions” of results.
They are trying to dictate reality for the new generation. Our job is to keep our young children offline and their noses in the right books. I warn my child constantly that they are determined to change the way people — especially children — think. His “Catholic” school cannot cooperate with the enemy enthusiastically enough. And they have nothing but contempt for parents who want a Catholic education for their children.

Results on Apple:
“Catholic Church” on Brave, Firefox (Duck Duck) and Safari.
All three had page after page of Mass times, Ewtn, USCCB, sacraments, catechism, theology, social teachings.

FROM ROME, our favorite, was FIRST on FF and FIRST on Saf. First page 1/2 down on Brave.
(But not much else.)

Microsoft has delayed the computer world progress by 20 years by it’s monopoly. The OS is mess and crap, they ruin every app they buy, ex Skype. Microsoft needs to go away, so does the. rest of the crap like Facebook, Meta, X, Instagram, Spotify.
I cannot recall ever using Bing search directly, though I will have used it via meta-search utilities and via DuckDuckGo.
I searched for Catholic Church without quotes and the list began with a map showing the three nearest Catholic churches to me (NW England), and a couple of Anglican churches with traditional names – thus easily mistaken for Catholic churches.
The list continued with the Wikipedia entry for the Catholic Church, a couple of Catholic directory / Mass times sites and the website of the Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales, plus various news articles within the last 24 hours from UK and Ireland.
I use Brave browser on a mobile and the mobile network provider is one of the majors in the UK.
Maybe there was a technical glitch when you looked, or maybe someone or some bot at Bing flagged your comments and made a course correction to the “algorithms”?
Try selecting the News tab under the More tab.
With Brave browser using a mobile, I do not see either More or News, as you do.
But many news pages are shown anyway, after the map showing my nearest Catholic churches and the Wikipedia link.
Using Chrome browser on the same mobile, I get about one hundred and thirty news articles, ranging from UK mainstream media stories a few minutes old, to far-flung American and Asian publications and BBC website articles up to 16 years old.
Both my Brave and Chrome browsers have been customised and have huge uncleared caches and histories.
Unless everyone reproduces Brother’s search accurately, all the observations being discussed here are merely anecdotal. He wanted to compare bing news results on search string “Catholic church” across multiple geographical locations.
Repro:
1. Go to bing.com.
2. Search on “Catholic church”
3. Click the “News” tab.
4. Make a note of the number of results.
5. Be sure to include the country you are conducting this test from.
