It has been stated that Pope Leo has fellow Augustinians sharing the Papal appartments, because he wants to create the monastic setting and live according to the rule.
Since his private secretary, the boy he met when the boy was 15, will live in one of the apartments, he scarcely could live the rule of Saint Augustine since he is not a religious. That the other two or three will be Augustinians, I think, rather, is to dispell the gossip that he and his altarboy have been lovers for all these years.
And certainly this boy does not have the talents to be the private secretary of a pope, so why does Prevost want him around?
I won’t mention even that as Roman Pontiff you should be equitable with all, thus, living among Augustinians while you are supposed to be impartial, gives a bad sign to all the other clergy and religious who are trying to speak with the pope.
But then again, he is not the pope, so his personal decisions how to live, are just another distraction to that reality.
Good points, I read Mother Angelicas book she described Pope Pius X11 appartments a bedroom ,sitting room ,dining room ,bath room and private chapel, it sounded quite basic,not large enough to accomadate five or six people, unless they have incorporated more rooms .
