SPAIN: 7 Catholic Churches attacked in August, 2025

Editor’s Note: It’s not every day you hear of a Catholic Church you know of, attacked. But I wake up today to this news in Spain, where one of the 7 churches, Saint James the Apostle, in Albuñol , Granada is listed as one of them. The vandal broke several statues and set the Church on fire.

I personally know this Church, since in the summer of 1985, my brother Dimitri and my friend, Carlos Perez, of South Miami (our group translator) went for a month’s vacation in Iberia, and one of the first places we stayed was in Albuñol, Granada, where Carlos knew the local Pastor, who kindly put us College students up in a local B&B..

For those who think they know, but don’t, the town of Albuñol, and my surname, have nothing in common, even though if you see my name written as, “A. Bugnolo” it seems similar.

The Book on the Trinity, every faithful Catholic priest would love as his next present

bonav-I-banner This is Br. Bugnolo's English Translation, of Saint Bonaventure's encylopedic book of theology on the Trinity: With this book, your priest will always have something intelligent and awesomely inspiring to preach to you about God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit!

  1. Brother, Sorry to trouble you. You made an absolutely excellent and exhaustive video on the importance and correctness of never touching the Blessed Sacrament or the Tabernacle, chalice, monstrance, etc. with unconsecrated hands, as well as always receiving Holy Communion on the tongue, kneeling. I’ve searched extensively across the site and cannot find it. Could I trouble you to assist with a link? Our pastor is pressuring us to handle the Monstrance, the Luna, standing oix, the Blessed Sacrament. No one believes me. “Be careful who you listen to” scolds the EMHC. I threw her words back at her and said I listen to Jesus and scripture. The compromises pile up and are designed to get us to forget important truths. Thank you for your help — Our Lady of Akita, pray for us.

    1. I think you are referring to my one hour video on the Most Blessed Sacrament, on YouTube.

You should call you pastor out when he says such things, even if he is at the pulpit or during Mass, saying:

You may have forgotten Who is the Living God and that He comes to use really, truely and sacramentally as the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, as the Council of Trent does, but we do! You should be ashamed of yourself or honestly leave the Catholic Church.
