According to the 1983 Code of Canon Law, promulgated by Pope John Paul II from the Apostolic Palace, on January 25, 1983, all those who partake formally and publicly in an ecclesiastical schism lose all rights in the Church. For this reason, all Catholics who enter into communion, knowingly or unknowingly with an antipope lose all their ecclesiastical rights to undertake acts which confer right.
By “acts which confer right”, I mean those legal acts in and by which, a person who has the right to confer a right, does in fact attempt to confer a right. Such rights include electing, appointing, authorizing etc..
In this article, I will demonstrate the truth of this assertion.
Here I will briefly discuss what the Code of Canon Law and the Popes have said on these matters, for those who are unfamiliar with the laws of the Church, and for those who want to share this article with fellow Catholics who similarly are uninformed and want to know actually what the Church truly teaches on these questions.
Canon 1364 imposes ipso facto excommunication on all schismatics
This canon reads in the Latin,
Canon 1364 § 1. Apostata a fide, haereticus vel schismaticus in excommunicationem latae sententiae incurrit, firmo praescripto can. 194 §1, n. 2: …
Which in English reads:
Canon 1364 §1. The apostate from the Faith, the heretic and/or the schismatic, incurs latae sententiae excommunication, with the prescription of canon 194 §1, n. 2 remaining firm;
Here the phrase, “latae sententiae” which in the Latin is in the genitive, and is normally used as an adjectival phrase in English translations, can be rendered instead as, “without the necessity of a declared condemnation”.
Canon 1331, the juridical effects of being a schismatic include the loss of right
The next canon explains what the effects are of being excommunicated latae sententiae, without any tribunal or authority declaring it, that is, what would happen if anyone joined a schism or became a schismatic, what kind of rights would he lose:
Canon 1331 §1. Excommunicatus vetatur:
1° ullam habere participationem miisterialem in celebrandis Eucharisticae Sacraficio vel quibuslibet aliis cultus caerimonalis;
2° sacramenta vel ssacramentalia celebrare et sacramenta recipere;
3° ecclesiasticis officiis vel ministeriis vel munierubus qualibuslibet fugi vel actus regiminis ponere.
Which in English is:
Canon 1331 §1. The one excommunicated is forbidden:
1° to have any sharing as a minister in celebrating the Sacrifice of the Eucharist and/or in any other ceremonial worship of whatever kind;
2° to celebrate the Sacraments or sacramentals and to receive the Sacraments;
3° to exercise any kind of ecclesiastical offices and/or munera of whatever kind and/or to posit an act of government.
Pope Nicholas II declares all Antipopes Schismatics
Here I will quote from Pope Nicholas II’s Bull, “In Nomine Domini“, n. 4, which he promulgated on April 13, 1059, in the Patriarchal Constantinian Basilica of the Lateran, in the presence of the Synod of all the Roman Clergy:
§4. On which account, if anyone has been elected, or even ordained, or enthroned, against this Decree of Ours promulgated by Synodal sentence, whether through sedition, and/or presumption, or any guile, let him be cast down by the Divine Authority and that of the Holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, by a perpetual anathema with his promoters and supporters and followers as one separated from the thresholds of the Holy Church, just as the Anti-Christ, both invader and destroyer of the whole of Christendom, and let no audience be given him over this, but let him be deposed from every ecclesiastical grade unto whatever was before his, without any objection made, to whom if anyone whatsoever adheres, and/or exhibits any kind of reverence as to the Pontiff, or presumes to defend him in anything, let him be abandoned by equal sentence, which if anyone shows himself to be a violator of this sentence of Our Holy Decree, and has tried to confound the Roman Church by his presumption, and to raise disturbance against this Statute, let him be damned by perpetual anathema and excommunication, and let him be reputed among “the impious“, who “shall not rise again in judgement” (Psalm 1:5), let him know the wrath of the Omnipotent One against him, and that of the Holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, whose Church he has presumed to fool, let him know a ravaging madness in this life and in the future; “Let his dwelling become deserted, and let there be no one who dwells in his tents” (cf. Psalm 69:26): “Let his sons be orphans, and his wife a widow” (Psalm 108:9), “Let him be shaken completely” (cf. Psalm 108:10) to madness, and “may his sons go about begging, and be cast out of their dwellings” (Psalm 108:10). “May the money-lender ravage all his substance, and may the foreigner lay waste all his labors” (Psalm 108:11); “Let the whole world fight against” (cf. Wisdom 5:21) him, and let all the other elements be against him, and may the merits of all the Saints, at rest, confound him and in this life may they show open vengeance upon him.
Leo XIV is not the pope, because he was uncanonically elected, and thus by claiming to be pope, he is an antipope
For the proofs of this see:
- How Pope John Paul II declares the Conclave of May 2025 invalid, conferring no right to be pope upon Cardinal Prevost, send to 5000+ Clergy and Religious at Rome
- Open Letter to a Cardinal, regarding the invalid Conclave of May 2025, sent to 150+ Cardinals.
For this reason, it is an act of satanic pride to promote or support an antipope, as Pope Nicholas II teaches and as Pope John Paul II determines. And no Cardinal or Bishop can be saved if he commit this sacrilege.
Hence, all Catholics in communion with the Antipope Leo XIV have suffered the loss of all right
The effects of being in communion with a fake pope, that is is with someone who has usurped the Apostolic Office, Dignity or Munus, by a false or illegitimate claim to the papacy, is that he is a schismatic, separated from Christ, and so are all those who recognize him as “Roman Pontiff”, because they are joining themselves to a fraud, a man NOT in communion with Jesus Christ or the Catholic Church.
Since it is nearly six months since this act of schism, and since all parties have been duly admonished by letter, here at Rome, and since all parties are persisting, knowingly, in their crime and fraud, without remorse or shame, it can reasonably be presumed that they are pertinacious and formally consent to being in schism with an antipope, that is, with a man who is uncanonically elected.
To show how a complete spirit of mendacity and fraud has taken possession of the minds and hearts of these schismatics, who know of all the above documents and facts, I will simply cite two examples:
One Bishop recently said, “If all the Cardinals and Bishops of the world accept this election, it becomes valid”. And another, one of the Cardinals close to Prevost and Pope Francis, recently said something to the effect that, to reject Pope Leo shows the total lack of a spirit of communion, and that is a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
It is obvious, that such statements implicitly reject the laws of the Church and the truth of recent history, not to mention are or imply both blasphemy and a denial of the teaching of Christ, Who declared as King, that “whatsoever” Peter binds on earth, shall be bound in Heaven, in His Kingdom.
Moreover, all who reject Christ the King’s laws are rebels and are involved in open conspiracy against His Kingdom.
Hence, none of these clergy have or enjoy the right any longer to claim authority or jurisdiction over any Catholic. They can impose no laws, appoint no one to any office, elect no one to any office, determine nothing for anyone at any time now or in the future. They suffer excommunication and are outside of the Catholic Church and separated from Christ. And they cannot be saved, according to the Bull of Pope Boniface VIII, Unam Sanctam, since they are obviously NOT submitting to a true pope.
Finally, none of these have de facto the right to elect the Pope anymore, because either they have lost that right in virtue of canon 1331, section 1, or they do not want to exercise that right, since they hold that Leo XIV is a legitimate pope.
Thus they have suffered the forfeiture of right.
And this is what I promised to demonstrate.
Consequently, though these “Catholics” still exist and live, and have natural and civil rights, in ecclesiastical law, since they have suffered the forfeiture of all right to engage in acts which confer right, the case is the same as if they did not exist physically or were dead.
Thus, Leo XIV Schismatics have no say in who is the Pope
From the point of how the papacy can be restored under such a horrific circumstance, the Canon Lawyer, Guido Ferro Canale has already explained that two years ago, HERE, and I have demonstrated it 6 years ago HERE. — Thus, in a few weeks, when the Catholics of Rome, who reject the claims of Robert Prevost (Leo XIV), assemble in accord with the teaching of Pope Nicholas II, in his Bull, In Nomine Domini, n. 3, who spoke of the Catholics who are members of the Church at Rome, that is, who hold ecclesiastical residence in the Dioceses of Rome and its suburbican dioceses, thus:
§ 3. Wherefore, if the perversity of depraved and iniquitous men, so prevail, that a pure, sincere and free election cannot be held in the City, let the Cardinal Bishops with the religious Clerics, and the Catholic laity, though few, obtain the right of power (ius potestatis) to elect the Pontiff of the Apostolic See, where they might judge it to be more fitting. Plainly, after the election has been completed, if there be a bellicose conflict, and/or if the struggle of any kind of men resists by the earnestness of wickedness, such that he, who has been elected, cannot prevail to be enthroned in the Apostolic See according to the custom, nevertheless, let the elect obtain as Pope the authority to rule the Roman Church and to dispose of all Her faculties, which Blessed Gregory, We know, did, before his own consecration.
… they will lawfully, licitly and legitimately elect the Roman Pontiff, who in the sight of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church in communion with Him, will be in natural, ecclesiastical and civil law the Roman Pontiff, the Bishop of Rome, the Primate of Italy, the Servant of the Servants of God, and the infallible the Vicar of Jesus Christ.
The procedure to convoke, conduct and hold this election has already begun, as reported at ChiesaRomana.Info, with the consent of more than 5000 clergy and religious of the Church at Rome, who being duly informed have not opposed the convocation.

“You say you tremble because there is something of a Hildebrand in me? Do you still find yourself among those for whom this holy and glorious name is a symbol of exaggeration? For those who look closer, his name signifies forbearance and impartiality along with strength and fidelity. Trust me on this – and everything else. This trial had to surface … and, as do all trials, it too shall succumb one day.”
~Letter of Dom Gueranger to Madame Swetchine,
January 13, 1838.
Prophetic words to faithful Catholics.
Correction :
Here I will quote from Pope Nicholas II’s Bull, “In Nomine Domine“, n. 4, … ==> In Nomine Domini
Thanks!
Thank God for this great event.
The two ships will now wage war against each other.
Are the sacrament conferred by clergy deceived, or rather submitted to the antipope still licit? I was wondering since in our town, the priests have chosen to *obey the bishop first*.
They are formally illicit, that is, a Catholic should not receive them. However, during a schism between a true pope and a fake pope, where a vast majority of the Faithful are deceived by the legal facts of the dispute, theologians commonly admit “ecclesia supplet” for all the Faithful, who want to know the truth, but cannot find the Sacraments celebrated by clergy under the obedience to the true Pope.
So you can attend them. However, I think Catholics who recognize the true pope, should not financially support clergy or religious or dioceses which refuse obedience to the true pope, and that their voting with their pocket books, as it were, is the first way they can in practice make their voices heard; the second, will be supporting clergy who recognize the true pope and establishing mass centers for those in communion with him.
Fr. Walter Covens is the only priest I know of who openly adheres to the truth of the current situation. Should we be requesting Mass intentions of him, say for the Pious Association of Saint Louis IX?
The P.A. is not having masses said right now, since I am waiting to speak to the new Pope about it, to get it erected canonically.
