An introduction by Br. Alexis Bugnolo
Quantum teleportation appears at first glance to be entirely a fantasy from science fiction, but recent advancements in quantum physics have discovered that, as fantastic as it may appear, there is a physical reality which makes it possible at least in one sense.
In science fiction, teleportation is the means of transporting a material object from one place in space to another, without it passing in its physical form through the intervening space.
But in quantum teleportation, what is being transferred is not a physical reality but the quantum characteristics of that real thing. In other words, what is being transported is not the thing itself, but all the information about the physical state of that thing.
Now, it needs to be said, that in the video above, the presenter gets it wrong and confuses the information about the quantum states of the particles with the particles themselves.
And that quantum teleportation of information is not fantastic, we Catholics already should know, because it is rare but Church recognized phenomenon of some Saints, that they were able to be in two places at once, during ecstasies in which their body remained in one place, but their physical presence experienced being in another place, where other humans testified to having seen them present physically.
These Saints admit, after this mystical experience, which only lasted for limited times, they retained the knowledge and experience of being in the other place, while they were present and in ecstasy in their own convent or monastery. That is, they retained all the information of the experience of being in another place.
The Church recognizes these cases as the mystical gift of ‘bilocation’, though She has never magisterially explained the phenomenon, other than attributing it to the absolute omnipotence of the Divine Power. However, it is clear, that as described, this phenomenon appears to be the same as what is now called quantum transportation, an aspect of quantum entanglement, where a single physical quantum is divided in two particles which share complementary quantum information, such that with one changed, the other is instantly changed, regardless of how far away it be, even at speeds faster than the speed of light — which in the theory of Einstein is a constant to in every measurable frame of reference.
Thus, in my opinion, we might very well see in future years great strides in Quantum Transportation Technologies, with this proviso, that what is being transported is not the same thing as is the object to be transported, but a simulacrum or copy of the same. And on the basis of the phenomenon of the Saints, I can also make a scientific prediction, that whatever human technology will ever attain to, it will never be able to replicate the phenomena of the Saints for large objects, since it requires the omniscience and omnipotence of which the Divine Mind alone is capable, to maintain in good order the being of each and every thing.
However, this technology of Quantum Teleportation might prove highly useful in the remote exploration of the universe, obtaining information about very distant places beyond a distance at which it is physically possible to visit with any device.

Is this related to “remote viewing” somehow?
No, not at present, but it may lead to such a technology some day.
