In Catholic Tradition, the human body is never tattoes, because a tattoo is what is called a “mark” in Scripture, in the Book of the Apocalypse, in the phrase “mark of the Beast”, since in the time of Christ, tattoes were signs of being in perpetual servitude to the owner depicted. As adopted sons of God, Christians should not put marks of slavery on their bodies, as is obvious. Not even tattoes which are Christian symbols, because Christian Tradition holds that the skin God gave us to adorn us as He intended; He did not make us to be used as a writing tablet or canvas for the works of men, but that we might ennoble oursleves and decorate our being with Sacraments, Grace and Virtue.
This may be a good video to share with your son or daughter, grandson or grand daughter, niece or nephew who asks your advice about getting a tattoo.

My child attends a parochial school at which not only are teachers (all of them female) hired who have visible tattoos, but these teachers think it is appropriate to show off their tattoos to their students. The principal of the school sees no problem with this. I allowed my child to watch this video — it provides a lesson that his Catholic school does not teach — but should.
Tattoos are of the devil.
I ask the school children, “Want to see my tattoo?” And when they all stop talking and wait in anticipation, I make the Sign of the Cross. This is a good way to make them think.
I would look to see if there is another Catholic School in the area, or just turn to homeschooling.
Thank you. We tried to switch. The current principal sabotaged our effort in collusion with the principal of the other parochial school. This is the Church today.
Homeschooling is not an option for us.
