The Book on the Trinity, every faithful Catholic priest would love as his next present
This is Br. Bugnolo's English Translation, of Saint Bonaventure's encylopedic book of theology on the Trinity: With this book, your priest will always have something intelligent and awesomely inspiring to preach to you about
God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit!

Oh blessed joy of this holy night, we hear the voice of our Holy Father, and we rejoice. Thank you Lord, You heard the lamentations of your people and you have shown mercy to them. Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints.
I thank PP Electi Hildibrandus for his noble exhortation, for if the printed word can convey the willingness of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to bestow His Munus, then these stirring words fit that bill.
Let we the Catholic faithful, with bated breath await the joyous news of Hildebrand’s valid and licit consecration, that we the faithful may discern the assumption by PP Hildebrand of his Ministerium.
May the fig tree bud forth ripe figs and the vine her plump grapes!
This is a momentous time of hopeful restoration for the entire world, The holy Feast of Christmas, AD 2025! Praise be Jesus Christ, our Newborn King!!
Some readers may recall the old saying, “Begin as you mean to continue”. It’s quite a wise saying, but not easy as it sounds.
I believe it may be apt here though, and I hope my commentary below will not appear in anyway grinch-like, which is furthest from my intent. I only write, not to take the bloom off the rose, but to exhort and encourage the absolute best as seen through fresh eyes of third parties like myself and other supporters with best wishes for every blessing in this incredible undertaking for the good Lord.
I humbly ask your patience in hearing what is intended to be a helpful critique, in full support and knowledge of the years of labor and prayer expended, leading up to this day.
The antipapal conundrum of Leo XIV finally became clear, linear and concise to the World in your recent FAQ summation made public at fromromeblog.
MANY THANKS!
The how, why, when, where, and crucially, the solution of how the Church can rid antipope usurpers such as Leo XIV in accord with Roman Catholic history, Papal law and jurisprudence are found in this FAQ, a gift of immeasurable value to us and future generations of the Church of Rome.
As well, the extraordinary courage and effort to write this initial “Urbi et Orbi” message is challenging to say the least, and to be accepted with all thanksgiving.
However, the proclamation of the timeless Christmas Message and Heaven’s encouragement to a world in turmoil is, imo, more than sufficient as a stand alone message of solidarity with and sanctification to your Flock in this first outreach to the world.
“Urbi et Orbi”, again merely imo, was probably not the appropriate communicative vehicle in which to insert even a superficial attempt at explaining the complexities of what brought the world to now be apprised of an election of a true Pope to replace the usuper antipope, Leo XIV.
The bumpy detour “Urbi…” took into a particularly dense narrative of historical intrigues of the 11th century as well as their resolution and their applicability to today’s intrigues, while lightly touched upon (and this keystone subject is really an “all or nothing” topic which deserves its own solo treatment) may not have well served the main message and purpose of the Document. With apologies, it resulted in a few rambling disjointed sidetracks lacking a strongly resonant theme reinforced in beginning, middle and end. Again, imo.
How this history of intrigue and the solution to it was achieved in the time of Nicholas II, and how these same principles for solution were recently and ingeniously applied in this current Papacy of Leo XIV, resulting in the election of Pope Hilldebrand, ABSOLUTELY DESERVES a separate Papal Communique, written asap by the Pope’s Secretary of State and breaking down the entire genesis of this wonderfully brilliant historical solution in the same exceptionally logical, chronological, informative FAQ style as the fromrome FAQ, (although it needn’t be a strict FAQ format).
PS A professional editor would have been so very helpful in pulling together a linear, single, cohesive “Urbi et Orbi” theme, built in a step by step fashion, which obviously comes from the heart of a holy man, but a team must be assembled so the communications of this holy man, Christ’s Vicar on earth, are second to none in Truth and clarity for the good of the Sheep and above all, the salvation of Souls. It’s early days and it will be so, God willing. But please release the entire Nicholas II/Leo XIV genesis with all priority.
Because with that finally, officially explained and archived for posterity, the new Papacy can move forward in confidence, from strength to strength in God.
The more people of the world that can access this knowledge, the more support will come because of their understanding, especially if the information is transcribed into an EASY read doc (not too lofty) on the Sedes Apostolica site.
May you recieve this commentary in the spirit of total support and constructive critique offered to bring out the very best; to be excellent in all ways in Christ the King’s service to a world thirsting for understanding and His Restoration. “Behold, I make all things new”.
Criticism from exerts in public relations is always accepted. The Holy Father only has a small group of volunteers and non of them are professionals in anything.
But to respond to your critique, the Letter clearly explains the Christmas Blessing that the Child Jesus gave to His Church this year of our Lord 2025, by a direct intervention to restore the papacy by an extraordinary grace in an extraordinary crisis, and the intimate tie between the Incarnation of the Son of God and the Office of Peter. So it is not simply a juridical explanation of events, but a theological explanation of an epiphany. Clergy with training in theology will be able to see a lot more than you have seen, therefore, in it. All of this was important and essential for the Holy Father’s first Letter to the Church, because the restoration of the Church requires a restoration of the Papacy, and the restoration of the Papacy begins with a return to right doctrine regarding who the Pope is and the special role of the Church of Rome in the universal Church. The form of the letter, Urbi et Orbi is the only one appropriate to the task at hand for a pope elect, who, not yet being consecrated a Bishop, can only outline the grace filled vision the Lord has blessed him with, as an indication to the Sacred Hierarchy of the principles upon which both he and they should act in receiving this grace. And yet, as can be seen, the Letter is not an Urbi et Orbi in the ancient sense, since the Holy Father cannot yet grant an episcopal blessing, that is why he closes his letter with a prayer to the Eternal Son of God to bless the Faithful in his stead, which is theologically the most appropriate thing to do, on Christmas, by a pope elect.
As for your suggestion for what a Secretary of State could do. The Holy Father has not yet appointed a secretary of state. And he probably will not do so until an ecclesiastic with sufficient expertise for such a role breaks from the faction of the antipope.
Thank you for catching that typographical error in the Latin.
What Joy! What Hope! Merry Christmas everyone!
Happy Merry Christmas!! brother… Brother, I express my deepest respect and gratitude for your hard work. As I mentioned, although we have many differences of opinion, I have learned much from you and gained valuable information through your truth-telling. I am lacking, humble, humble, and full of sins, but I am walking the path of an orthodox Catholic. Chung Clement Jae-ho of the Archdiocese of Seoul, Republic of Korea, sends greetings to you…. Happy Merry Christmas!!!! I sincerely believe this space, ‘From Rome,’ was like an oasis in the desert. Most mainstream Catholic media either praise another false pope, Robert Prevost, or unconditionally support Trump, JD Vance, and the current Republican Party, which are nothing but other forces of evil. Brother, you have been an unwavering voice of truth in the face of these false currents… I offer my deepest respect and gratitude for your tireless efforts…
Though it is an extremely difficult time for the true Pope to act, and even more difficult for true cardinals, bishops, clergy, religious, and faithful Catholics to act, even though I myself am so lacking and insignificant, a lowly human being burdened with so many sins, I resolve again and again to walk the path of true truth, even if only one person remains… Even if only one person walks the righteous path, I believe that is sufficient if it is right… So, even though I can’t help you, I’m sure we have a lot in common, even if it’s just through our hearts, and I want to always support you…Though many dire situations unfold, I firmly believe that ultimately the light of our Lord Jesus Christ will triumph… The glorious apostles and martyrs possessed this same faith and hope, enabling them to give their very lives in loyalty to the Lord. I too wish to follow their path… May the our Lord Sacred Heart of Jesus always grant you, your family and all your loved ones infinite graces….Holy Mary, all Angels and Saints.. pray for us… Amen.. take care.. have a great day… preparing about huge perseution!!!! I sincerely hope to see you someday when you run a site dedicated to truth… Happy Merry Christmas Again… and May you be at peace both in spirit and body until the moment the Lord permits…
In paragraph 9, the direct reference to and connection between the synagogue of Satan and the Free Masonic Lodge (with its diabolic creed of the Brotherhood of Man) brightly illumines the ongoing and present darkness. For the faithful with this Urbi et Orbi truly our Holy Father Elect with the flame thrower of Tradition shines The Light that has come into the world, like a disinfecting spotlight, for all who have eyes to see.
I thank God for His warriors in this age of miracles and true renewal and pray for their protection.
Well, still the readers of FromRome enjoy, but they need to share, for as far as I can see, only 5-7 have shared this Letter on social media. Please don’t keep this grace to yourselves, share it on Whatsapp, email, FB, twitter etc.. etc..
If you are allowed to join this forum, you might find it useful to join the conversation they began on their own. In fact, they seem so poorly formed as Catholics and so ill informed about the news, they can’t figure out what to make of it

Or you could go over to the FB page of Novus Ordo Watch (Mario Dersken) who has give up so much on the Catholic faith that he holds that when the Church at Rome elects a pope it is necessarily a heretical act. Straining gnats and swallowing camels, he finds fault with a free font available on Canva.com and thinks that is the only thing wrong with the election of Hildebrand. You cannot make up this kind of psychosis …

Then there is Antony Stine, the national socialist out of Oklahoma, who cannot ridicule enough Catholics at Rome whom he thinks are less Catholic than himself, while carefully ignoring any mention of the two key papal laws, because like Bergoglians, he wants a church ruled without any laws but his own tongue.

I’m having difficulty interpreting the quoted passage from St. Augustine correctly: ” faciens et factus, sicut ille Creator et ille creatus; creator Suae Matris, creatus ex matre”… There’s an apparent contradiction here with the creed that we profess every Sunday Mass: “gentium non factum”. Could you help me? Best wishes for Christmas.
In the Nicene Creed, “genitum non factum” refers to the Eternal Son of God according to His Divine Person and Nature. But in Saint Augustine, he is speaks of the Eternal Son according to His Human Nature, since according to His human nature he is created and made, that is conceived and formed in the womb of the Virgin.
Here, you encounter the Greek dramatic manner of speaking, which in regard to the Son of God, is called the “communciation of idioms”, that is, where the Greek Fathers attribute to the Divine the things of humanity, and to Humanity the things of the Divinity, by means of speaking in one part of the sentence of the divinity of the Son and in another of His humanity.
Thus, when the Council of Ephesus declared Mary to be Theotokos, that is Mother of God (God bearer), they speak dramatically, since She is mother of Christ according to His human nature. But since His human nature belongs to His Divine Person, and His Divine Person is by reason of His eternal begetting from God the Father, Mary is called Mother of God, not because in this title of Hers, we assert that She is mother of the Divinity, bu because She is the Mother of the Son.
Saint Bonaventure explains this well by saying, that in the phrase, Mother of God, we understand the word, God, as “Son of God”, and Mother, as mother of His human nature.
This Greek dramatic style of speaking is what scandalized the Copts and led to their separation from the Church, because it cannot be understood literally, but dramatically. The Greeks whose culture is the source of the art of drama find this way of speaking to be useful in evangelization because it shocks the mind and causes one to think and ponder. But in other cultures it is objectively problematic because these cultures do not have the dramatic modality of expression as an accepted form of rational discourse.
IN the English speaking world, after the Reformation, we Catholics frequently encounter this problem, since there are some protestants who still attack us for calling Mary, “mother of God”, saying God has no mother, as He is without any cause. Even the Assyrian Bishop from Syndey Australia, who is now blind in one eye, often speaks of how Catholics and Orthodox err by pronouncing this phrase “mother of god”, since he likewise fails to understand the modality of dramatic expression and what is meant by the communication of idioms.
Thank you.
Very impressive, Brother Alex,* now “we” know a little something about the Holy Father… i almost wish that he had taken the name Gregory XVII — not only as a nod to Hildebrand, but also to Siri who was supposedly going to take that name. (because the pope elect has shown here a desire to pick up where Pius XII left off)
i once asked a traditionalist friend of mine what kind of pope John Paul I would have been had he lived. In my friend’s usual rad trad fashion (the sound of “smug”… 🤓) he said, “well, he DID choose those names”. Once the internet age kicked in, i was able to look up Albino Luciano to find out for myself.
Turns out that he simply chose “those names” in thanksgiving to Pope John XXIII who made him a bishop and Pope Paul VI who made him a cardinal. And two things that he intended to do as pope were bringing back the TLM and consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart. (hardly what you would call a “modernist” agenda)
i certainly hope that Pope Hildebrand is able to bring about the sweeping changes that he outlined in Urbi et Orbi. i hope & pray that he rescues us from that “fabrication, a banal on the spot product” (cardinal ratzinger’s words) known as the Novus Ordo Missae. As well, i’m looking forward to the consecration of Russia “done right”, unlike the feebleminded minded attempt done by John Paul II, so that at long last we may be delivered from the communist scourge, our great chastisement for not having done so a century ago.
* now i can see why you’ve been so inexplicably overconfident over the course of the last five weeks
Viva il Papa(!)
I have already seen a lot of traffic from your country. Keep sharing it!
