A Thought Experiment by Br. Alexis Bugnolo

Whether you are a long time reader of FromRome.info or whether you just arrived today, and this is the first and only article you have read, here, you MAY have noticed that there are nearly no websites, YouTube Channels or Social media influencers, Catholics or not, who are talking about how the election of Cardinal Prevost, to be “Leo XIV”, was rigged and illegal.

But has it dawned upon you to ask WHY?

So, let me give an example to motivate you to ask.

Imagine that in your town there was active the Sicilian Mafia. And let us say that one of their bought-and-paid-for politicians was just elected to the office of Mayor. And let us say, that the polls the night before Election Day, showed that the other leading candidate had 30% more of the vote than the Mafia candidate. And imagine that this politician was a younger woman, a known personal confident of the Mafia Boss who just died, who was known to spend two-hours alone with him every Saturday morning.

Well, naturally, in such a scenario, it would be the talk of the town for the next few weeks. Certainly, everyone would be asking, “How did this gal win?”

And imagine one newspaper, the day after the election ran a front page article, saying, “The Vote Tallies as of 11:30 PM were 25% in favor of the candidate who lost, but some how 15,345 votes for the other came in and were counted at 11:55 P.M.”

Well, certainly, then, the conversations about the apparent fixed election would be the talk of the town for weeks, months, and probably years.

But imagine if all of the Bloggers in town who have railed against the Mafia for 12 years did the exact opposite.  Imagine if every one of them hailed the new Mayor as a sign of hope for change. Imagine further that they would not even allow a comment on their Blogs by anyone questioning the legitimacy of the election.

And imagine, that of all these Bloggers, there was one electronic journal which did the opposite, and reported on the election, and shows how the vote tallies were impossible and that various rules were violated, and was gathering signatures to a petition to the government to have the election investigated.

And further imagine if all these same Bloggers were also refusing to allow any discussion or comments about this initiative. Imagine if some of them even launched the most vicious personal attacks against the publisher of that Journal.

Now return to the real world, and ask yourself WHY is no “Catholic” YouTuber, Influencer, Journalist, or Journal, except FromRome.Info, is discussing the rigged and proven illegal election of Cardinal Prevost as “Leo XIV”. Why are they not even talking about the Letter to a Cardinal?

And if you are willing to think about this, try asking each of them Why NOT?
