Pope Francis has chronic bronchitis, cortisone use has led to pneumonia

Editor’s Note: In addition to the revelations by the Corriere della Sera, one of the principal newspapers of Italy, Vatican News is reporting that Pope Francis will be put back on a mechanical respiratory device at night time, with a mask, even though during the day he used breathing tubes beneath his nose, with high oxygen levels. This means that Pope Francis’ chronic bronchitis is getting worse and his doctors are no longer confident that he can make it through without this extra assistance at night, when breathing rates normally slow down in human beings. — All this argues that the days of Pope Francis’ active ministry are over. He will be confined to oxygen tanks and breathing machines for the rest of his life. — His medical team also has a difficult problem to solve: they must remove him from cortisone, so he does not die from pneumonia, but they must somehow prevent his bronchitis from suffocating him, with some other medical intervention.
