I started listening to this video out of curiosity, though I do not speak Italian, but I was surprised to discover that I recognized quite a few words. I should not have been, since I have some French and Spanish, and a lot of English words have Latin roots.
You speak more slowly and clearly than many native speakers would, so it occurred to me that I might be able to pick up some Italian by listening to your videos. It helps that I have some idea of what you are talking about.
When I was learning Spanish, I watched a Spanish language TV channel, because the actors, news reporters, etc spoke more slowly and clearly than my Mexican friends.
In Missouri, the population is fairly homogenious, and everyone I meet speaks only English. I miss the mix of cultures I encountered out West.
